Tomorrow is when school meetings officially start, but we asked our principal if we could test our students this year before school starts. She took a long time, but finally this summer, gave us permission and found the funds. Today was the day (and Thurs, too)
Don't think I'm crazy, now. I'm not testing for free. I get paid for my time! It's really tough to do all of our testing we need to do with the first graders when all of the kids are there. They don't understand why they can't interrupt me while I'm testing. This will make the start of the school year much better! I'm really excited about this year! I think there are LOTS of good things to come!
It was a huge success! My room is ready a week before school starts. My mom is coming in tomorrow during my meetings to help with all the little stuff, that ends up taking forever and has to be done. Thanks Mom!!
It was great to meet each of the students one-on-one without any other students around. They are so cute and have such neat personalities. I can love them for who they are, before they are influenced by others. It's also very nice to have an idea of their reading level and needs BEFORE school starts.
I'm back in the swing of things! Summer is officially over for me. It has been a wonderful summer, truly! I look forward to a fantastic school year. We don't have any veterans on our team this year. Three of us have taught 1st for 2 years and are on to our third. This is definitely a year for good collaboration and teaming. While I'm talking about years, I am SO glad to have 3 years under my belt. I don't have any evaluations this year. Hurray!!!! I paid my 60 bucks and am good to go with my license 2. :)
Here's to a new school year!
Now if I can just get a 2nd date from all my 1st dates. It's like the mission. Lots of first discussions. Anyhow, I really got to go to bed. It's not looking too good that I'll be up tomorrow to exercise before work.

About Me
- Kelly & Tasha
- Kelly and Natasha walk day by day through the blessings and challenges of daily life. Some days are wonderful and others are rough, but somehow we always make it through. It took a long time for us to find each other, but find each other we have. We are learning to be better parents, step-mom for the first time, and bringing a baby together into this world. Life certainly isn't easy, but we are making it work and growing closer everyday and loving each other more each day. This is all possible through our faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is our journey!
