My car wouldn't start this morning. My first blessing of the day was that Katie (my roommate) didn't need her car today since she was going out of town and I was able to take her car to work. I came home to see if I could jump start it. I successfully jump started it, with Dad's help on the phone (Katie's battery looks a lot different than mine). It was a blessing that I didn't have anything tonight and had time to work on the car. We decided I should take the car to Sears. As I was getting ready to get on the freeway, my car starting acting weird. The pedometer started jumping and I started losing other functions of the car. I was a little nervous to get on the freeway, so went straight instead and finally managed to get turned back to go back home. Dad told me I should probably take the car back home.
Well, as I tried to do that, the car stopped on top of the overpass on my exit. Unfortunately, nothing on the car would work, including my hazards and I was stopped IN the road. There was no side of the road and even if there was, it would have been covered in snow. I sat there with my arm out my window, motioning for cars to go around me. Fortunately, a car pulled up beside me and asked if they could help. I honestly didn't know if they could. They tried to push the car out of the way, but I couldn't put the car into neutral. They jumped the car and I managed to get down the hill out of the road with my hazards on and no lights. I think of them as my good samaritans. One of the men was visiting from Florida, is LDS, and says he likes to stop and help people, especially women. He says he does it because he'd want someone to do that if it were his wife on the side of the road. They were very kind and got me off the overpass and out of traffic. I got to use my blanket in my trunk as I waited for my parent's to come help me out. (I've never used it before. I bought it to keep in my car.)
It was a blessing that my parent's were willing to travel a 1/2 hour to help me out. It was very interesting. It seems like I remember having trouble with my jumper cables not working in the past, so I used Katie's jumper cables to start my car. However, when I was on the overpass, my "good samaritans" used my jumper cables to get my car going. When we went to use it later when my parents were there, they wouldn't work. We had to go back to my house to get Katie's. I felt like that was another blessing.
We managed to get my car enough "juice" to get me home. My Dad has a battery charger, so my car is currently plugged into the wall, so hopefully I can get to the dealership or somewhere else tomorrow to get my car checked out. We think it's the alternator.
Last night, as I was out and about, I noticed that my dash lights on my car were very dim. Now it makes more sense.
I'm grateful for being watched over and many blessings.

About Me
- Kelly & Tasha
- Kelly and Natasha walk day by day through the blessings and challenges of daily life. Some days are wonderful and others are rough, but somehow we always make it through. It took a long time for us to find each other, but find each other we have. We are learning to be better parents, step-mom for the first time, and bringing a baby together into this world. Life certainly isn't easy, but we are making it work and growing closer everyday and loving each other more each day. This is all possible through our faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is our journey!
